• Drag and drop files and folders – Now you can drag and drop your personal files/folders as well as files/folders from the community onto your desktop and between your personal folders.

Making the Most of the Web

Greetings all! As we approach the holiday season with thoughts of gifts, vacation, and relaxing for a few days, it's always handy to find ways to liven up your time on the web (a favorite vacation spot of everyone here on the FanBox team).

In today's post, we'll look at a few of the ways that FanBox can make your time fly by.

Applications and Games - Whether you're an avid gamer, eager newsfeed reader, or overly idle individual, we've got tons of apps ready to enjoy. Better yet, when using an app on your desktop you can click the maximize button to view it full screen (highly recommended!)

Blog - One of the staples of the web today, blogging is a great way to keep in touch with all your fans, friends, and family. On FanBox, you'll immediately know whenever your fans update thanks to FanFare and Blog update notifications.

Instant Messenger - Even if you're stuck traveling, as long as you can find a computer with web access, FanBox lets you chat with any of your friends on MSN, AIM, Gtalk, and Yahoo. Don't feel like chatting directly? Leave them a comment or personal message instead.

Seasons greetings!

Well, it’s been a long journey, but finally! FanBox is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to show you everything we’ve been working on. We guarantee that there’s something for everyone, and I know YOU will find what you’re looking for!

What I love most about FanBox is how accessible it is. With the 2 free Gigs of storage space, you can save virtually any type of file to your FanBox desktop. A few clicks of the mouse, and you’re ready to go! I mean, think about it: you can access your files, pictures, music, and videos from anywhere in the world! I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled to hear that I no longer need my computer when I travel; it will give me some extra room in my luggage for souvenirs =)

There are so many things to discover on FanBox, and we would love to hear your comments and suggestions about how we can make it even better. So, tell your friends, tell your family, tell everyone about FanBox and share the fun!

Who's Online?

You asked for it, we delivered! Who's Online is up and running on FanBox. Meet and chat with other FanBox users from around the world. Here are a few key features I'd like to highlight:

• Controlling Online Status - Choose whether or not you'd like to appear online or offline. Click on your FanBox Start Menu (on the bottom left-hand corner) and use the online status dropdown menu underneath the "Who's Online?" link. If you choose to appear offline, you can still chat with other FanBox users; you'll just appear offline to everyone.
  
• Search Online Users by Country - Check out who's online in each country. You can also filter for States when searching for users in the United States.

See your fans' activity on FanFare

With our new FanFare you can check out what your fans are up to, whether they are adding songs, posting comments, adding applications or adding new photos to their albums. Best of all, you can listen to songs that your fans have just added by clicking on the green play button.

With FanFare not only do you know the last time your fans were on FanBox but you can see all the new and exciting content they are adding to their profiles and Web-desktop. Keeping in touch with all your fans has never been easier. What a great way to start the new year off!

Community Files

The FanBox Desktop is an interactive and inventive product that offers a wide array of features. With so many actions to choose from, it is easy to get absorbed in only one aspect of the website, without ever realizing what other products are at your fingertips.
One of the most exciting and innovative features of the mobile desktop is the Community Files icon. Members who upload files from their personal computers can choose to share content they have created with the rest of the FanBox community. This way everyone is able to enjoy member-generated documents, music, and photos! If you have not searched through the Community Files, I highly recommend it. You will be surprised how much original content is being shared in our community!

To access and browse through the Community Files, just follow these easy steps.






1. Minimize your Public Profile so you can see the entire mobile desktop









2. Double click on the Community Files icon














3. Choose what document type you would like to browse by





4. Type in any words you would like to search by



5. Double click on the file to view it
6. Click OK to acknowledge that this file will be copied to your FanBox Files.
